The Power of Jesus |
| Lalitha Jadav is a 55-year-old ex-temple prostitute who lives with her husband and two children in a major town in the South Indian state of Maharashtra. An OM India film team met her recently when they were doing door-to-door visitation. They learned that Lalitha had practised witchcraft and other evil activities. Some locals regarded her as a deity because of the power she seemed to possess. The team began to speak with her cautiously. They argued together over the power of Jesus. Finally Lalitha was convinced by what they said and invited them to show the Dayasagar film in her home. After the show she was weeping. She became convinced that she was a sinner and said, "In front of the local people I am holy and a deity. However, in front of Jesus, I am a sinful woman." The team prayed with her and she chose to follow Christ. In the days that followed, Lalitha and the team hosted a fasting prayer meeting at Lalitha's house and invited many local people. Lalitha’s husband also decided to follow Jesus. Together as husband and wife they began hosting discussion groups in their home and were able to testify about their new faith in front of many friends and neighbours. Today Lalitha, her husband and their children are attending a local Christian fellowship and the OM India team is conducting a Bible study in their home. |
