REAL ONE PLAYER DOWNLOAD & INSTALLATION INFORMATION

1. Go to RealNetwork's RealOne Player Download Page.

2. On their RealOne download page, you'll find a link to their Free Player in a gray bar that looks like this:

3. If you click on the Free Player link, the next page may again emphasize their $9.95 player on the left. (Scroll down and there will be a link in the lower righthand corner called Download the Free RealOne Player Only). On the other hand, you may be asked to download the RealOne Player software.

4. You'll be asked for your E-Mail address, and whether or not you've ever been assigned a RealNetworks registration password. You must answer both questions. (If their records show that you've already been assigned a password and you cannot remember it, they'll email it to you.) Click on Next Step

5. If you've never registered your RealPlayer software, they'll ask for your name, and request that you pick a password. Write this information down. You'll need it later. If you don't wish to be emailed notifications or product offerings, you must "uncheck" that box. Click on Next Step.

6. Their download software will attempt to automatically ascertain which Operating System you are running. If it is successful, you'll be given a choise of download locations. Click on the location closest to you.

7. The RealOne Player will be downloaded to your PC and will atempt to automatically install itself. If you already have an older RealPlayer or RealJukebox installed, the installation of the RealOne Player will remove them. However, if you have saved "favorite sites", they will be available with the new player.

A note about Download Time: The RealOne program is approximately 9 Megabytes. It will "download" into your computer's hard drive at a rate which depends on your Internet connection speed. For example; The Windows version of the RealOne Player will take 15-20 minutes to download if you have a 56Kbps Modem. A faster internet connection will mean a faster download.

8. As the installation continues, a version of the new player will display the progress of the download. You'll also have a choice of an "Express" or "Custom" imstallation. This guide assumes you've selected the "Express" installation.

9. You be asked to accept the RealOne Software Licensing Agreement. Read it over and click on ACCEPT.

10. Select your Internet Connection Speed. Note that this setting can be changed at any time in the player's Tools->Preferences section.

11. The player installation will end and will play an introduction. You should hear this introduction through your PC's speakers.

12. The first time that you use the player, it will ask you to register the installed version once again using the email address and password you used above. If their site is busy, click "Cancel". The player will continue to function, but every time you use it, it will ask for this registration.
